What is sound healing?

First things first: I don’t believe sound 'heals' in the sense of fixing or curing something for you — and I don’t offer any promises like that. Healing is a personal, active process. What sound can do, is create a safe, spacious environment where your body and mind can rest, release, and realign — and in that space, healing can begin. Healing is always an active journey, and sound is simply a beautiful companion along the way.

This is why I prefer to speak of sound journeys, sound baths, or sound experiences rather than 'sound healing'. These terms reflect the exploratory, supportive nature of the practice.

Sound affects the nervous system, brainwaves, and energy field. Through instruments like singing bowls, gongs, and chimes, we create vibrations that help shift the brain from busy, alert states (Beta) into calmer, more meditative states (Alpha & Theta). This can reduce stress, support emotional processing, and reconnect you with your inner world — all without needing to 'try' or 'achieve' anything.

It’s an invitation to simply be — held by harmonious sound.

What to expect?

At the beginning of each session, I invite you to come as you are — with an open mind and no expectations. This isn’t about achieving stillness or having a specific 'experience'. Maybe you’ll drop into a state of deep rest and calm. Maybe your mind will stay busy the whole time. Maybe you’ll fidget, feel emotional, or notice very little at all. That’s all okay.

Sound works in subtle ways — sometimes it feels immediate, and sometimes the effects show up later, as a softer nervous system, a clearer head, or simply a better night’s sleep.

You’ll find a comfortable position, get cozy, and let yourself be held by the soundscape of instruments like Tibetan singing bowls, gong, chimes, and more. Once you're settled, I’ll gently guide you into relaxation, then let the sound do its thing — no effort required. Just be, and receive.

Because sometimes stillness has a sound

My sound journey

My journey with sound began after my first 200-hour yoga teacher training in Koh Phangan, Thailand. There was a small singing bowl in our shala that deeply resonated with me — and when I joined a full sound session out of curiosity, I was blown away. After this profound 90-minute experience with gongs, Tibetan bowls, I knew I wanted to work with sound too.

In early 2020, I traveled to northern India and bought my first singing bowl — just before COVID changed everything. During the pandemic, I took my first training in Cologne focused on Nāda Yoga and the use of Peter Hess bowls in sound massage. It wasn’t until February 2023 that I could finally return to India to study sound baths more deeply … and brought home a set of bowls I fell in love with.

Soon after, I began teaching weekly Flow & Sound classes and monthly Yin & Sound sessions. In 2024, I returned to India again to deepen my knowledge and to learn how to play the gong — and, once more, brought one home. So now, the journey continues, one vibration at a time.
